Any scientists or brainiacs in the crowd?

shefoxy
Corals, huh? Cool~ I've been debating on whether or not I should go back to school. I'd love to study Astrophysics or Volcanology. If I went back for a MS, I'd do Volcanology or Plate Tectonics~

.... I am not looking forward to O-chem

I hear mixed reviews of pharmacology. Either I hear that it's alright or, "I passed by the grace of God and I'd rather cut off my nuts than do another semester."

Thinking back on O-chem now it really wasn't that bad. It's mostly that it's a different kind of learning that most people haven't done before. It's sort of like a visual language. Pharmacology seems to depend a lot on where you take it and the focus of the class. My med school Pharmacology crammed everything into two weeks. However, it only went over biochemical mechanisms and ignored organic chemistry mechanisms which I imagine a dedicated semester long Pharmacology course would include, or a Pharm school course.

I was an Art major my first year in college. Sounds like a big change but the creative act is central to the advance of both disciplines.

Computer Science Major, still doing classes to get my degree.

:) I'm an artist at heart and I just started my own art business. You'd be surprised how much being able to think creatively actually helps in the understanding of science and theory.

Here's an article you may enjoy. http://www.starstryder.com/2008/02/18/with-a-lever-i-move-the-earth/ I am working on my B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Biochemistry. I agree wholeheartedly that appreciation of art in its most simplistic form of creativity gives a person clarity to piece one thing to another, which is essentially any natural science.

Thanks Jae! :D I'll check it out~^^

I have an INTJ personality so I am naturally inclined to be a mastermind. I used to be big into science and everything but I threw it all away after high school and let myself stagnate for a bit if that still counts. Came to the conclusion that no matter what career I chose I could never be content with a single pursuit or achievement so things went a bit downhill for me mentally, haven't been reading or studying like I used to.
