looking for an Otaku girlfriend but unsure of where to look

sugichan
The major issue I am facing right now is that I am trying to find a girlfriend who has similiar interests to mine but it seems like most of the Otaku girls I meet are taken or otherwise not interested. I seem to attract the attention of guys more than girls. Any advice? I am beginning to feel a little discouraged.

Story of my life right here, the site has been getting more and more members each day. Gotta hold out to see what happens.

It also might be healthy to keep an open mind. Sometimes people with too similar of interests will get in the way of intimacy. You could be dodging hundreds of lovely women without even noticing.

Yeah, agree with seonke. Don't assume that because they're not currently into anime, they never will be. Just try to attend events or join local groups that are of your interests. Anime clubs, conventions. That kind of thing. See if maybe in your town if any local theaters do any anime nights. Meetups, that sort of thing. If you're looking for someone with similar interests, you gotta expose yourself to people with similar interests.

doubled tapped post apparently... :P

Haha, same here. Highest concentration of otaku girls are at anime conventions. Lots of people stay up and chat half the night after all the events so this is your best time to socialize with random otaku girls. Wear a cosplay that's popular among the girls will help get attention too. Also some conventions have late evening raves if you are into that.

Xueli has the right idea there. Anywhere large groups of otaku would gather. I'd also say any clubs or organizations involving gamers, scifi, etc. can also yield a lot of cool new people to meet since a lot of interests overlap with one another.

Everyone is right. Conventions are the best spots to meet people, along with organizations and meets ups. Also, I'm a girl and I have had very similar situations happen to me. So if I'm looking for a guy who likes anime, I have to at least make friends with a guy. If he's taken or not interested, then I just form a friendship with him and try becomes friends with his buddies. Of course I'd be disappointed, but I have a better chance if I'm in a bigger circle. Get to know a friend of a friend, and eventually you'll find that person. Hope that helps and makes sense. c:
