Yeah, he kind of has the harem thing going on but not like most harems since they are all mostly tsundere and mostly lolis. A vampire loli familiar, a loli schoolgirl ghost, a loli supernatural girl, a regular athletic female schoolmate and his two younger sisters. (The infamous toothbrush scene)

It's not a ton of fan service or anything, just at random moments. The ongoing schtick is that Araragi is a pervert but it's totally ok because all the characters want to be molested by him anyway, lol.

Also the Monogatari series didn't come out in chronological order. It's one storyline, though some parts focus on different characters, but Araragi is always the main protagonist. The latest one that is coming out this month, Kizumonogatari is actually the beginning story. The series is unusual in that it has it's own unique style and is heavily focused on quick, wordy, witty dialogue. It's certainly not for everyone but artistically I think it's one of the best anime series ever made. I would start with Bakemonogatari as it's a good intro, then watch the prequel, Nekomonogatari and then the sequel, Nisemonogatari or something like that. Then the rest in chronological order and Kizumonogatari last. Nisemonogatari has the most fan service, seems to bother some people but not me, lol. Monogatari Series: Second Season drags on a bit but is still good. I love the rest.
