I love japanese films. Know what is also good? Korean ones! They are really good to. And I am seriously impressed with that list I can barley remember 3 american movies I have seen on spot. And it is true with our lack of imagination. They re even thinking of a Death Note movie with the guy who played troy in high school musical as Light. Ugh, why America. What sucks more is that most people dont know where the ideas come from so they just jump on the its so original bandwagon.

All american cartoons for adults are just stupid humor and sex jokes. And most anime have way deeper stories from these "smash hit" movie I see being praised all the time. Sure I thought the hunger games was ok. (I mean this isn't anime related but japan related) I mean it was based off of Battle Royal so you cannot really call it "original".

Wow that is a amazing story! And better late than never, I think even those who discovered it early wishs to discover it earlier, that is just what anime does to you. I think anime honestly should be bigger than it already is. People are so quick to dis it because it is animated but honestly some anime makes me cry more than any drama I have seen on TV, not to mention there is a type of anime for everyone. Romance, action, horror, how can you not like it? Keep on going bro you sound awesome!

San Diego is kind of expensive as well, however there are affordable areas (That aren't in the ghetto), you will definitely need a car despite the public transportation system. I may also add traffic sucks in certain areas such as Del Mar off I-5. We do not have heavy pollution, however. We do not get seasons, and are generally temperate. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it's hot, but never terribly cold or terribly hot. We whine about it a lot because we're spoiled.
Compared to most places I have been such as Bakersfield, Los Angeles (Beverly Hills), and Los Vegas this city is much more beautiful, the weather is also very nice. It has an increasingly growing music scene as a lot of indies bands are moving this way.
It has several conventions related to anime and comics, most notably San Diego Comic Con. The entire Gaslamp Quarter becomes a sort of fictional world full of comic themed restaurants, venues, and lots of parties. There is Gaslight Gathering which is an exceptional steampunk convention. Almost everyone is dressed for the atmosphere and it's a good opportunity to meet like minds. We also have Anime Conji which is a growing sister con to Anime Expo. We also have a lesser known comic convention called Comic Fest which is much smaller than Comic Con and very comic-centric.
The area is very ethnically diverse. We have a Little Italy, Kearny Mesa (where I live) is full of Asian businesses including the best store in the world for fans of Japanese stuff - Book Off, Mira Mesa is also very Asian. We don't have Little Tokyo or any of that, we just throw all the Asian stuff in the Mesa areas! lol You can get just about any restaurant in San Diego, and the service while not always top notch is much better than most places in LA.
The biggest businesses in San Diego have to do with sciences, colleges, hospital, and especially the military. If you get STABLE employment here, expect it to be related to these things.
As for crime, San Diego is rather low crime.
We definitely have beautiful beaches, parks. and places to hang out. We have places to visit as well such as San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Legoland, and Seaworld. It's also 2 hours away from Los Angeles.
If this appeals to you, you should experience San Diego firsthand and see if it's a good fit for you.

I've lived in in LA for about 6 years.
The average rate for small apartments are pretty high, traffic is god-awful, and there's high crime rate (depending on which part of LA you're in), there's a lot of very nice areas, but in my personal opinion it's only worth living in LA if you have a lot of money.
Places like Palm Springs, etc, are very very nice, I go out there every weekend, but it's kind of pricey.
Up in the Inland Empire, which consists of towns like Victorville, Apple Valley, and Hesperia, you can find beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bathroom houses with a large 2 car garage, spacious backyard, etc, for around 1250 a month, and there isn't a lot of crime. It's a great deal, considering some apartments in LA are 1300 for a studio apartment.
Deals can be found anywhere, if you take the time to look.
Southern California is pretty nice.
(I would personally avoid LA though, unless you're on a vacation.)
