A mysterious group of ninja called the Sora from the Sky Country makes a surprise attack on Konoha for vengeance due to Konoha nearly destroying the Sky Country during the last Shinobi World War. At the same time Naruto, Sakura, and Hinata are sent along to help a boy's village.

The movie opens with a battle taking place at night on a desolate seaside beach between Sand Ninja and mysterious warriors wearing bulky suits of armor. Despite their best efforts, the Sand Ninja are slowly overwhelmed by the sheer strength of their mysterious opponents.

When a great demon fox attacked Hidden Leaf Village, a powerful man known as the 4th Hokage had sealed the demon inside a newborn named Naruto, who then grew up detested by his fellow Leaf villagers. In Karakura Town, there has been a sudden outbreak of unidentifiable spirits called "blanks" (vacant souls) while in the skies of Soul Society, the real world has been reflected. A mysterious female shinigami called Senna has appeared before Ichigo along with a man named Ganryu, leading a group called the "Dark Ones".

Kurosaki Ichigo is not your average, everyday 15-year-old high school student. He has from as far he can remember always had the ability to see ghosts and spirits.

Kurosaki Ichigo, the temporary Shinigami(Death God) for Kuchiki Rukia, discovers his mother's killer as one of the Hollows he has been hunting. He does battle with it in a prideful battle of revenge.
