Hey all, my name is Kevin. I've loved anime since before it was commonly referred to as such, I was about 4 when I first saw Captain Harlock, Voltron (Golion), Robotech (Macross/Southern Cross/Genesis Climber Mospeada), and thanks to the now old out-of-print Streamline/Orion dubs, Lupin III and more racy/violent offerings like Barefoot Gen, Fist of the North Star, and of course Akira. However, it was not really until some years later when I watched Slayers for the first time that I truly became hooked for life. I also watched Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and yes even Sailor Moon (in its DiC-dub ruined form initially...). Obviously Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Rurouni Kenshin, Mobile Suit Gundam (whatever series they showed I watched, but UC is my pref), and the like weren't far behind once it gradually became embraced by popular networks. It was difficult to have a more varied love of it outside of what was televised back then, it just wasn't taken seriously by people...
As the turn of the century loomed however, things gradually began to change. A whole world gradually opened thanks mostly to occasional Sci-fi channel offerings and Cartoon Network's Toonami afternoon and late evening blocks. Also...the Internet, that allowed me to enjoy so much more of the things that I had merely heard about through the grapevine. Many years later still, I have a collection of anime that numbers over 70 (physical) titles strong, not including those received through the efforts of BakaBT!!
All that aside, I'm an 8 year Army veteran that is currently getting ready for college in Chicago to excel in my post-military career. I love anime still, as well as video games across numerous consoles (I'm a collector), primarily RPGs, racers, shooters mostly. I've never been to a Con, I've always wanted to, but never had the opportunities to do so.
I've desired a lady that loved me for me and that likes the things that I do. However, as the real world tends to work, such has not been the case as I've not been so fortunate. All the bad has only made me bolder and more confident in finding "the one" so to speak (not Neo lol). I'm a fun, enjoyable person to be around. Stubborn and driven to honor too, but hey, that's how I am, what you see is what you get. -.^ I love making people laugh and I'll act like a complete weirdo to achieve that without a second thought. If you'd like to know more, just ask me, I think I've overdone this as it is!! XD
