The world of Blue Exorcist consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah.

When his adopted father, Shiro Fujimoto was killed by his biological father, Satan, Rin Okumura swore to become an exorcist to avenge Shiro's death declaring war on his own blood-relatives of the underworld…Everyone is in the midst of preparing for a festival which is celebrated once every 11 years in True Cross Academy Town. However behind the scenes in the shadows, a "Phantom Train" goes berserk while the barriers protecting the town from demon intrusions were under repair.

The story revolves around Rin Okumura, a teenager possessing abnormal strength and endurance who, along with his younger twin brother Yukio, was raised by Father Shiro Fujimoto. Soon after Yukio departs to study at the prestigious True Cross Academy, Rin learns that he is the son of Satan, the strongest of all demons.

Light Yagami is an intelligent young man who resents all crime and corruption, and believes there is an unending increase in these things that he must try to stop. His life undergoes a drastic change when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground.

The story of Death Note revolves around a high school student called Yagami Light. His life changed when he saw a supernatural notebook that fell from the sky.

After losing their mother, Alphonse and Edward Elric attempt to bring her back using the forbidden science of human alchemy. However, alchemy operates on the theory of equivalent trade, and breaking the human alchemy taboo carries a heavy price.

In this world, there exist people with special abilities to manipulate objects and transform those objects into other objects. These people are known as alchemist.

Edward Elric makes a fatal mistake that drags his brother and his own body into an abyss, and they must seek the philosopher's stone to return their bodies to normal. They learn more and more about alchemy along the way during their adventures.

The rules of alchemy state that to gain something, one must lose something of equal value. Alchemy is the process of taking apart and reconstructing an object into a different entity, with the rules of alchemy to govern this procedure.

A fugitive alchemist with mysterious abilities leads the Elric brothers to a distant valley of slums inhabited by the Milos, a proud people struggling against bureaucratic exploitation. Ed and Al quickly find themselves in the middle of a rising rebellion, as the exiled Milos lash out against their oppressors.

The extra episode is based on a side story of "Fullmetal Alchemist" manga published in "Fullmetal Alchemist Perfect Guidebook" (2003). Edward and Alphonse meet a blind alchemist named Jude who supposedly performed a successful human transmutation, resurrecting a young girl named Rosalie Harbinger.
