That's cool. I have a friend who I think must prowl around for that kind of thing as well. Some of the horror stuff he's showed me just had me thinking 'where in the world did you dig this up?' I'd like to hear more about some of the stuff you found sometime!

No need to be sorry. :P I'm a big horror fan. I just wasn't expecting anything as crazy looking as that. Some of that stuff looks like the stuff of nightmares. Haha. Looks like a real gem!

๑Nyriah๑ @pandahnightmare I prowl forums and such looking for horror manga/anime then I seek em out, I'll look up things like that often. The older ones are really interesting, gives them a bit of an eerie feeling if you find those old ones with a unique style :D

Yeah, it's always like that with VNs and light novels and what have you. Even stuff that's really well adapted (like Steins;Gate/Clannad) lose some good stuff. By the way, if you like the stuff made by the guy who made Umineko/Higurashsi/Higanbana you should check out Rose Guns Days sometime. That's another visual novel he wrote (that got a manga adaption which may still be ongoing. Not sure.) It's not horror, but it's a great crime story.

Yeah, nothing beats the source material, although I thought Umineko's job did a really great job of adapting it without sacrificing much detail. But it was really fun reading the VN and then stopping right in the middle to figure out who the human killer could have been and how they carried out each murder. You definitely can't do that with the anime adaptation since it cuts out a bunch of red truth and stuff that you need, which is a real shame (although it might be possible with the manga). :(

๑Nyriah๑ @pandahnightmare Then it's sort of like a movie adaption of the book, the book is always better because there are much more details you're missing with the movie

Higanbana is great, too. Have you checked out Umineko's manga or the visual novel it's all based on? Though I liked the anime adaptation, it's a real shame...they had to rush through quite a bit of it, and they only adapted the first half of it!

๑Nyriah๑ @pandahnightmare I checked the manga but not the VN, I assume since like Higurashi it started as a VN so checking that out might be good!
