If you press and hold B, you can stop it from evolving.
but making it hold an Everstone will also help it not evolve.

Well my all time favorite is Rurouni Kenshin, but I love Claymore and so many others, I just recently started watching The Devil is a Part-Timer, it's actually getting pretty good :}
