What choujin are you
Lamby @momoichi i know im a huge nolifer but i reread the first chapter for the billionth time and i realized that chandler humes is a wanted guy, they know hes behind the smoke thing, so hes deff a baddy choujin. wonder how he'll join the main gang (because knowing ishida, he will) anyways, uuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh probz bug? i really like insects and think its insane how varied and adaptive they are. So maybe a spider choujin? id probz be a shape shifter like snek booba and tokio, because i dont want just lame ass web power, and the bulk of their power is venom.
Lamby @momoichi wat about you?
godspell @godspell Me? Ice
godspell @godspell protector probably corrupt
Lamby @momoichi youd join the choujin protecters? i probz wouldn't, id rather try and live a normal life with my koo9l ass powers. also, why ice?
godspell @godspell Id never join that guy. Theyre probably corrupt
godspell @godspell Because its how I see myself
Lamby @momoichi yeah theres gonna be some catch. maybe its like a 'you join us and now we control your life, you escape and your a fugitive and we got your info, sucker" situation. choujin apparently means 'super human' so this is likely ishida's take on the super hero genre. why do you see yourself as an ice choujin though?
godspell @godspell I see my self as cold and not human. More robotic trying a routine
Lamby @momoichi i dont get that at all, personally
Lamby @momoichi id say you would probz get super strength or something thats classic super hero, since your really into comics
godspell @godspell Ew so generic xD Also jagaan pretty sure we'd suck
Lamby @momoichi whaaaaat jaaaaaagan sucked too. only good character is the stalker guy (that apprently is dead because we havent seen anything from him in ages) and the octopus guy, and his character is ruined because OFCOURSE he fell in love with jagaaan because hes the protagonist and ladies have to drop their panties at the mere sight of him.
godspell @godspell I'm surprise you didn't simp for eating lead guy?
Lamby @momoichi nah, i prefer the desperate stalker guy. plus, im no big on taken guys. even if his wife is dead, his heart is not available, so i dont want it.
godspell @godspell XD yeah but we can appreciate him

Don't worry about it, I love talking about this stuff.
I actually haven't seen Raya or Onward yet, the promotional material for them didn't really sell it for me. I agree with you on Soul tho, masterpiece. Phenomenal direction, storyboard, music, everything really. Shoutout to the scene where's he's talking with his mom about how he wants to live his life, that was perfection. The way it was edited, how it went from 22 talking to him talking..... wow.
A bug's Life is a lot of fun, been a bit since I've seen it tho so my memories a bit hazy on it. Inside Out and Coco on the other hand are fantastic. They hit like an emotional truck. TBF to Coco, while it was Twist Villain, it was handled quite well, much better than Pixar's other twist villain's.... and that ending freaking breaks me lol.
I get what you mean about the other feelings being sidelined in Inside Out, but I think that worked to it's favor honesty. It's both a positive and downside. On one hand, yeah, you don't see much of the other emotions which is a point lost, but on the other hand, it gave Joy and Sadness significantly more screen time by focusing on them, which greatly worked to the film's favor since their dynamic was so well done that I'm glad it focused on them.
I keep saying to myself I'll watch Toy Story 4, but I keep putting it off lol. I'll let you know when I watch it. The Incredibles 2 tho was a good film. Does it come close to the first one? No, but it had great action sequences, gorgeous animation, and had a good sense of humor. The thing is, a good film doesn't compare to how incredible (no pun intended) the first one was.
Favorite films from western animation studios you mean? Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2, How to Train your Dragon 1 and 2 immediately come to mind as all being great films. Does the renaissance era count as classic Disney? If so, Aladdin, Lion King and Tarzan are all great films as well.

Sorry in advance that this post is a bit all over the place lol.
Interestingly enough, Pixar themselves wasn't happy that Luca was free.
https://www.indiewire.com/2021/04/pixar-staff-slams-disney-moving-films-streaming-1234633910/
Staff was not happy that both Soul and Luca didn't come with the premium $29.99 fee that other films such as Mulan and Raya came with. It also had a pretty decent writing team. It was written by Mike Jones and Jesse Andrews.

While Andrew's work doesn't seem the best, Jone's resume is pretty good I'd say.
I'm not sure what my favorite Pixar film is honestly, probably the Incredibles or Ratatouille (though its been a while since I've seen Ratatouille). What's your favorite?
I also don't follow much "modern" western animation. I havn't seen Gravity Falls or Steven Universe, and I've only seen a few episodes of Adventure Time.

Don't know how to reply to your post lol.
Luca was interesting. Compared to the films that Pixar is know for, it's very different. While Pixar is usually about grand tales like the Incredibles, Toy Story, etc, Luca is a much smaller and simpler slice of life film. There really isn't a complex series of events happening, it's really just following our two main characters going through the series of events to win a competition. I enjoyed it overall and it was a lot of fun. Would be curious to see how Pixar handles more Slice of Life films in the future as this was a very large departure from their usual output.
