I see you were wanting to talk about anime! So which shows have you been following this season, friend?

It would be wonderful to have people in my area that I could talk with at length about any anime or manga. It's just that I can't seem to find people that will hold a conversation without changing the subject or becoming antagonistic regarding the matter. This is coming from other "fans." In fact these days I find discussion on the subject tends to be a lot more pleasant when speaking to others that know very little. The "casuals" if you will. Such as if I want to go in depth about Blood Lad or Death Parade, I feel as if talking to a stranger of the genre has far more engagement. As where if I speak to someone more knowledgeable I'll get pushed out of the conversation. What perplexes me is how there tends to be perceived animosity between fandoms. As if enjoying 1 show over another becomes a right of persecution. Or if one talks about a particular series for too long then that person is deemed "toxic." I know the subject has been brought up before by others, so I am only repeating a sentiment that is mutually felt. I suppose this also circles back to society as whole. Whether you are the outcast or the incrowd... Ya just can't make friends with the friendless, haha!
