Lishifu @hakutaku I was rather avoidant before<I didn't really take intimacy with people into consideration, meanwhile I felt slightly bad because I was ignored by ppl I cared about secretly>~My caregivers haven't been emotionally available~I don't have trouble socializing now however I'm not into it..I prefer to spend my days alone~

Funny thing is, if both our countries just let go of their stubborn pride and really worked together.... We would kinda solve both of our problems. If Russia opened the borders for China and let you guys build, you would all get a comfy place to live in because of your large population, and our massive 80% empty territory. Plus we're basically the richest land in the world if our leaders didn't steal everything into their pockets. And your people would always find a job here, no matter if smart or strong~ Since so many of our best escaped to Europe or US because of our government. Maybe we'll get to see that in our lifetime if we're lucky. https://live.staticflickr.com/4150/5000397734_cdc3670a0d_b.jpg

Hmmm....now that you say it, there was always this concept in the east of the ultimate element just being "pure energy" from which every element came from. I'm not exactly religious, but I have my beliefs of this planet actually being a fully aware living being who can listen and talk to all of us if we want to. I mean, when you turn to science. Humans are 70% water, and so is this planet more or less. Like parent, like child I guess~ And ye, White Tiger of the West is also my fav <3 https://i.pinimg.com/originals/c6/33/f3/c633f35f9d85d97afd2880995d81ef3e.gif I find it interesting how it sometimes represents lightning or the Moon. Which are basically polar opposites. Since one means power, wrath, and fury. But other one is about patience and calm mind~

I was always curious about Tengu and Kappa. Legends make them sometimes feel like terrifying creatures, but sometimes people take them positively and even worship them. So I'm quite puzzled about what they really represent. Also, those are not Yōkai but I'm really interested about the Four Beast from Chinese mythology (Azure Dragon, Black Turtle, White Tiger, and Vermilion Bird). Mostly because Chinese people do not actually consider "air" an element, and replace it with metal instead.

Always wanted to ask. You seem to have studied a lot of stuff regarding Japan. Do you know any reliable sources to read about Shinto and Yōkai? All I usually find is a bunch of half-truths and misinformation. It's surprisingly difficult to get your hands on anything legit on this topic.

@saberwing I want to buy a bunch of different books and try to notice the similarities in what every writer says. That's probably the only way to find truth in ancient legends.
