In 1996, I was walking with my mom in the streets of Paris. There was a homeless boy playing the accordion for money. I was drinking a sprite and bumped into him. He grabbed my sprite and took a drink. He was about to hand it back to me but my mom pulled me away. Saying he's dirty. I looked back and the boy lifted the sprite looking back at me in a 'thank you' gesture. Looking back I think he was a refuge from the Yugoslav wars.
