So letting everyone know who does read my posts in advance, but I've decided to take a very long hiatus from MO which means I'll be deactivating my account. Unfortunately I will not be taking part in Inktober anymore in the thread for those who have paid attention to my art or have enjoyed my stuff in the art doodles. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the few likes and supports that I got. It was fun for a good while, but I'm taking this opportunity to expand my horizons and to do other things with my time. Also, I've dealing with life struggles lately and MO has preoccupied most of my time. Though I do not show it, in reality I feel deep down I frustrated that I haven't grown all that much or been as productive as I could've been. 永遠のルナ一 @eternallunar1 I actually need to read her works. I've never really watched Sailor Moon honestly. Although, I used to watch a few episodes with my sister when I was like 3. She loved Sailor moon, but I liked Dragonball, pokemon, or digimon around that age. But I love her art style a lot! I hear she's married to the Yu Yu Hakusho artist which I recently got into. xD

elhaym @elhaym Chocolate Christmas is a very lovely work by her. It's only one book, but you should give it a try~

永遠のルナ一 @eternallunar1 Thanks! ^_^ Oh yeaahhhh I love obscure and old anime haha.There's such a charm I get with old anime that I get compared to recent stuff. So I don't really watch a lot of new anime. Not that they're bad or anything in the least. I'm very particular with anime I like. xD

永遠のルナ一 @eternallunar1 Hah nice to know I'm not alone there! But yeah, I really love Hayao Miyazaki films a great deal. Those movies were really what got me interested into animation and just anime in general.

elhaym @elhaym My brother "infected" me with reading mangas when I was 7 years old. We also watched a bunch of animes together and liked to play beat em ups. So yeah, that's my story :)

永遠のルナ一 @eternallunar1 Interesting! I actually never knew what anime myself until I saw Castle in the sky on Tv one day. Though, I used to watch Pokemon and Digimon when I was a small kid. They seemed like any other cartoons and I didn't think they were classified as anime. But it had that style that where I could recognize it later down the road. xP

elhaym @elhaym I can remember when my brother bought the "Animania" from the comic shop. And I wasn't allowed to take a look in it because it contained hentai :')

永遠のルナ一 @eternallunar1 Huh, never heard of Animania. But oof.. henta huhi. I remember I saw a kid in middle school who got into trouble for looking up hentai on a computer. It's definitely been around that's for sure, and yeah it's pretty much everywhere.

elhaym @elhaym Animania was a German geek magazine for anime lovers. You could read a bunch of exciting stuff like introducing certain mankaga, "newest" anime from Japan etc. Sadly, even many adults prejudged anime as hentai. When I was drawing manga stuff, some people was scolding me for drawing porn. Fortunately many people knows today that anime =/= always porn. Even my mother watched anime like Georgi, Super Mila, Princess Sara or Sailor Moon with me. She was excited to follow the story with me~

永遠のルナ一 @eternallunar1 Oh wow that's pretty neat! So it's kinda like the U.S version of The Shonen Jump in a sense? Or that's what I'm assuming somewhat. But yeah wow I never knew there was such a judgmental view towards anime back then. I mean, I remember when I'd feel embarrassed about liking anime because when I was a teenager because there was that stereotype that nerds like anime that I'd often hide the fact that I like anime. Weird how hentai became associated with every anime since it's not porn. It's like saying that art is porn even though there is nudity in old art. It's a form of beauty that everyone should appreciate. Glad it's no longer the case anymore. Also, cool that your mom watched anime. My mom really doesn't care for anime, but she did watch Kiki's delivery service with me once and liked it. xD

elhaym @elhaym That's simple to explain, why anime was associated with porn - Many video shops had hentais in their +18 area, even porn shops was full with bad dubbed hentais. So it was a blame for the person who blamed me for drawing porn in the end~ My mother was special in that case - she also loved to talked about Georgi and Princess Sara with another mother. That was funny to follow~
