Hi I'm Alex. :) I love the martial arts and I am a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I'm an assistant instructor at my school and I love to work with kids. Other big interests of mine are anime and videogames. I'm a huge gamer and I watch and read a lot of anime/manga but it rarely gets in the way of my exercise and training. I have two jobs. I work at an auction gallery as a runner. I basically hold up antiques and furniture so that the audience can see what is up for bidding. My second job is a private lesson job where I got to a student from our school's house and I work on forms and kicks and sparring with him one on one. Life is good :)
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems.
I’m really good at
doing traditional forms but I'm also a decent fighter. :) I also rock at Street Fighter! lol Chun-Li is my main girl but Juri kicks butt too since we do the same style.
The first things people usually notice about me
I would have to say my smile and then people usually proceed to get mad at me because I never had to get braces. lol :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I don't read a lot of books but I do read some manga. I recently started reading the manga for Naruto. I'm really rooting for the NaruXSaku pairing lol. Anyway I also plan to start reading the Bleach manga since the show is going so slowly.
Movies: My favorite movies are the Studio Ghibli films. The stories are always great. I also really like all the Naruto and Bleach movies. I really like to watch romantic comedies and comedies but scary movies and martial arts movies are cool too. I saw Dispicable Me twice in theaters and I thought it was adorable. Can't wait to watch it again. :)
Music: A good 80 percent of my iPod is dedicated to J-pop and J-rock. I love that kind of music but I'll listen to almost anything. Aside from all the japanese music one of my favorite groups is the Korean pop band The Wondergirls. I also love to listen to videogame soundtracks. I find a lot of the orchestral songs relaxing. Nobuo Uematsu is an absolute favorite of mine.
Games: I am a hardcore fighting game fan. Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Combat, BlazBlue, King Of Fighters. I love them all but Street Fighter is my game. I've played with Chun-Li throughout all of my Street Fighter days and she is by far one of the coolest characters in a game. If I wasn't training in Tae Kwon Do I would probably be doing Kung Fu. lol I'm glad they added Juri because now I have a character to play with that does my style. :)
Along with fighters I also really enjoy RPGs. Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy are my favorites. I have seriously contemplated buying a keyblade replica. I'm pretty sure I will eventually buy one. Anyway that's enough of the games.
Television: I don't watch a lot of TV since I'm usually at my karate school but I love to watch House M.D., The Office, Gossip Girl and Heroes. I watch all of my anime subbed online. I mainly watch Naruto and Bleach but I've been looking around and experimenting with watching first episodes of different series. My new favorite is Katanagatari but they realease the episodes monthly so I'm trying to rack a few up to watch.
Food: As far as food goes, I will pretty much eat anything. I really enjoy sushi and I love going to restaurants where the chef cooks the food in front of you on the hibachi grill. :) Me and my instructor go to lunch at Sakura's all the time and the food is always great. Since I'm hispanic I like all of the traditional spanish dishes I just don't know any of the crazy names of them. lol

On a typical Friday night I am
working at the auction gallery. lol We always have an auction on every friday night but I usually finish early enough to do something after work.
