Flame of Recca follows the story of a teenage boy named Recca Hanabishi, who is interested in ninja and claims to be one himself. He often gets into fights because he made it publicly known that the person who manages to defeat him will earn his services as a loyal ninja.

15-year-old Seina Yamada was your average high school student..

The story is based around 11-year-old Saga Bergmann, a young girl in a small German town called Muhlenberg (based on real town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber). Saga lives with her grandmother Regina and works in a coffee shop when not in school.

The story continues with Rin Kokonoe is now a 4th grader student while Daisuke Aoki becomes her homeroom teacher for another year. As they get to know and understand each other more, Aoki become more confused of his feelings towards Rin.

Yukari is a typical high-school student who listens to her parents and attends school everyday. As she starts to question her way of life, she encounters a group of fashion design students who has a clothing label known as "Paradise Kiss".
