Weight Loss after surgery

@vampire neko & @Mushi-shi Meat is good. Meat is VERY good. Just eat real meat, nothing canned or processed. That means getting a slab of bloody beef from the store to cook for dinner. The protein helps to build muscle which will in turn increase your resting and working metabolism. Don't stop eating, actually eat several smaller portioned meals in a day. This keeps your metabolism working at a higher rate throughout the day. Green veggies are great because they're low in calories and filling. Now for working out... For fat burning and muscle building, do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) sets. HIIT can be as simple as a run: but instead of a well-paced jog, you rotate between full speed sprints and jogging. HIIT can be hell. You don't have to start out with a ton, work yourself into it and push yourself to do more next time. You have to have some determination to do it, but you'll burn fat and build muscle like nobodys business. Be sure that your body has healed up from the surgery first though.

I feel that my whole reply came across differently from what I wanted it to. I am by no means a preacher of veganism. I do not have any emotional hang-ups nor hate the taste. I do it for health reasons only since keeping a healthy body weight and looking hot af has been a breeze since I took on a vegan, low-sugar diet. Sure, you could achieve it consuming animal products aswell but it wouldn't be such a breeze. It's also a very individual thing. When I ate meat and dairy I had to struggle a lot with portions and such, since my metabolism sucks. With a vegan diet I can stuff my face and still stay skinny... And neko... Gotta agree with the soy milk thing. I use it for baking and cooking. But I use almond milk for cereals or oats for breakfast. Soy milk actually tastes like oat meal mixed with water to me. Not delicious at all. And lmao.. Testosterone actually makes losing weight that much easier but estrogen does help you keep your body mass down so that's a thing.

I know it wasn't.. But if you are used feeling shit about your body for years you do feel a difference. Besides I was only talking about my body. And that I don't feel bad about. I worked for it and gave up for it. So I'll sure as hell be proud of it.

In terms of importance of meat, it's not actually the protein that is essential since there's so many other sources for protein, the main problem is lack of B12 which naturally is only in meats and animal products. Vegans need to get it either in vitamin supplement form or need to seek out soy or cereal that have been enforced with it. B12 is an important factor in red blood cell production (thus the anemia), but it's also really important to your nervous system (for impulse conductivity). It's also incredibly dangerous if women are breastfeeding have low B12 because the lack can actually irreversibly damage. to the point of neuronal death, an infant's central nervous system. Which is why I sooooo highly stress the importance of talking to a doctor before doing any dramatic cuts to your diet. Limiting stuff like sugars and the obvious "bad stuff" is fine and for most people, a good step in the process. But when people go to town and start removing whole food groups like meat and carbs, I'd get a medicated opinion first.

With B12 I do it with supplements. :) but again, I agree with you, xueli. Since you get in contact with a lot of vegans in you job your advise is vital for new vegans.

@xueli: You're right on point, B12 is only in animal products. I was talking more about the muscle and metabolism building benefits for Mushi and Neko rather than the detriment to a vegans health. I don't agree with the vegan lifestyle because if you have to pop vitamins to balance your nutrient intake, I don't see it as a healthy diet.

^^^ I can kind of understand that. Humans used to not eat meat.. at all. However, when humans moved to colder countries they had to find ways to feed even in winter. The answer? Meat. We no longer need it now, however, our bodies are still used to it. Noted though... I also used vitamins BEFORE I went vegan. And whenever I leave out vitamins for a longer time I feel no change. So... It always depends on the person individually.
