Ive finally cracked and my anime obsession has got the better of me. I live in a small town where no one has even heard of it. Im new to this so not sure of the process.

It all depends on the context of the conversations. My ex felt bad for talking to a guy at a convention, and it broke my heart when she told me she felt bad because she felt like she was doing something wrong. You never want to hold someone back from making friends. But now she is dating that guy, and although it rips my soul apart, I feel like I was the better person. So like I said, its all context.

People are usually lead on because of a confused or unclear goals. Not intentionally. Unless the person clearly enjoys playing and toying with people's feelings. In which case the situation should be obvious in the end. Misunderstandings and interpreting people's feelings the wrong way is what causes most cases of being lead on.
