It helped to define my personality. It helped to shape my view of the world, to always stay positive even in the darkest times. It's even influenced my style of writing and how I've been designing characters for years. I guess you could say, overall, it's made me me.

Imagine starting with the 3rd game might have spoiled some of the story elements from the first two games, but since you liked the third game I also recommend playing the first two when they are eventually added to steam.

Nice to meet a fellow SAO fan ! I know its not perfect, but it does have quite a bit of unnecessary hate imo, so good thing you didn't ask this on reddit lol. I wasn't really a fan of the alfheim arc, as others mentioned it got pretty dark and i kind of forced myself through it. As for the GGO arc, i thought it was alright and pretty cool switching it up to a gun/shooter type mmorpg with some mystery involved. Season 1 is great so finish that first, then give the rest a try.
