I agree with Burning Halo here. Classic always looked the most distinctive and recognizable as anime to me. I'm kinda a fan of the late 90s to early 2000s animation style. I do love the modern styles too of course. Huge fan of moe, current shonen styles, and a lot of the more quirky, experimental artstyles we've been getting. But that classic water color bishoujo art style... Gawd, I swear its not just nostalgia. There really was something magic about it in the way it evokes emotion, along with a subtle sense of longing. Like some were breathtaking, and others were kinda meh.
