Hello, my fellow Minnesotans!
I just wanted to see who was out there and ask about cons and maybe meet up. I don't know. Anyway. Here it goes.
So first off I am new to the con scene and went to Anime Detour this past spring. I enjoyed myself and plan on going again. But I have been reading some of the forums and have gotten a different impression. So what are the local cons around these parts, not only in Minnesota that you would recommend that I attend if my budget allows and would you want to meet up? And what are your general opinions of certain cons and why?
Talk with y'all soon!
Colleen

Detour is the biggest and longest tenured anime convention in the cities. You usually have the pre-register just to be able to get in. Otherwise you have Animinny which is right now the second largest convention there and has been around for a few years now and is actually run by the owner of this site. He also runs Metacon in the cities. Convergence is more a Sci-Fi and Gaming con, but it's one gigantic 4 day party and has a lot of unique room parties and themes going for it. Anime Fusion is a smaller Fall con that just started last year and will be having it's second year in the cities this October. I also heard the people who run Anime World will be having a Spring con for the first time in the cities and will be sandwiched right in between Detour and Animmineapolis next year.
