The thing is is that the ball's in her court so to speak. You really can't do anything for your part. I'd agree with the moving on bit. You're not obligated to wait around for her to make a decision. Treat her as a friend and go out and meet other people. If she makes up her mind, you guys can go back to it again

Its ok man, luckily you got out of that mess very early. Most people lose grip on reality when they like someone, including me. That's not supposed to be a bad thing if the person you like is a good person, but that's often not the case. You pretty much got yourself the best possible outcome of this situation

For the next time you run into a similar situation, just ask her. Really. Just ask. Or if you like her, tell her first. Scary? It shouldn't be because being scared of rejection is the same as fearing to lose something you never had. Don't concentrate so much on any one girl until she says yes, lest you get absorbed to the point where you subconsciously fear losing her without even being her boyfriend first.

@roukouro I don't think asking would be necessary. the mixed messages and 180's are evidence enough for me to stay away from her, regardless if she likes me or not or whatever the heck she is thinking
