Dropping 79 bucks on a simple battery replacement for my iPod isn't the highlight of my day. I tried looking up ways to do it myself seeing as the battery only costs 20. However Apple made it a point to make it hard to swap out unless you have a soldering kit and some experience. Basically trying to keep the average Joe from cheating Apple from making dollar over fist to the nuts!

Odd you still use an ipod at this point

It works for me. I know people stream off their phone, but I don't want to drain my battery. Also I have a large collection of music I bought years ago before streaming was as accessable as it is today. I like the ease of creating and managing playlists that itunes provides. Even if there are alternatives, I've yet to find a program that's easier to navigate when creating playlists. I use my iPod in my vehicle since morning radio tends to be exclusively talk shows in my area.

You can always transfer your music to your phone like I did.

How many songs? Also how do you keep your battery from draining?

I just charge it when it needs to.

That doesn't work for me. I am on the road a lot and I can't always charge on the fly. I do use my phone for calls and other matters too. Be a lot to do with one device ya know.

Get an external charger. Was thinking of getting one myself

My only issue would be having another accessory to lug around and remember. If it hooks to the phone as a permanent attachment it could be easier, though from what I seen those attachments make the phone chunky and uncomfortable to slide into my pocket. Again, I'd still have an issue with memory storage. I have 250 gigs of music and I wouldn't want to try and squeeze that into my phone.

A big enough micro SD card should do the trick
