Is race really a factor? O . o [Gomen for ranting]

I agree with that to a certain extent, since it doesnt apply always.

A lot of it is how your brought up, and how strong of a person you are. Can you deal with the fact that the person you fall in love with, is not going to be accepted by your family. A strong person will let the family know, that its their life, accept it or not. Luckily for me, I grew up in accepting family, so I grew up with the beliefs were all people, no matter the color of ones skin. My mother was oldest out of 8, I am the oldest grand child. I have 2 aunts who married black men, and I have 2 gay uncles. Yes, my grand parents loved their children for who they were, not for what they wanted them to be. And all of us grandkids learned the same lessons. I also know, I was lucky in that fact. I have watched friends be basically cast out of their families, for whatever reason, be it coming out, or dating non-white females or whatever. I'm there for them, and always remind them. Folks grow up with two families. The one of blood, and the ones we get to choose. If one doesnt want to be part of your life, so be it, its their choice. maybe one day they will want to be part of it, till then, move on with the family you chose. Sorry for rambling, my old age showing. :) But as far as men are concerned, real men will care for you, if they care for you, no matter what others will say. If they want to be with you, they will be.

I feel it does matter just due to the fact of me having two ethnicities in me. I have been on dating websites were it's I only date white guys or where they say I date only black guys. I am mixed between the two but I am a one of a kind that I look hispanic. So I asked them where would I fit in this I date a certain type of man.

Does race matter? For me, no. For others, yes. To be honest I don't really like most white girls I meet, probably all that CSI: Miami they like to watch. I don't get it.

Race doesn't matter to me just don't push your religion on me...I seem to have a thing for asians though

No offense, size and race are in two different categories. Firstly, color of skin is just that, it makes no man/woman any greater or less. Second, what most are intimidated by is culture. Even in, say, America, there are cultural differences and those for some can be offsetting. Me, I find women of all colors and creeds to be beautiful, however I will say I prefer my own color but that is a matter of comfort because of who mostly I was raised around, but believe me, I'm trying to make even that irrelevant in my quest for life long happiness. On that note, follow your heart ( think with you head though....) even if others say don't simply because of color or nationality. They, in my opinion, don't care about whether you're happy or not.

You make a very valid point ..eh...something... so I take back what I previously said about white girls. what I actually don't like is most of the white girl's culture, probably all that CSI: Miami they like to watch.

My mom would love to see me with a Filipino girl or Jewish girl but ultimately its my choice.

That's a shame that your friends have gotten that as a break-up line. That's rough. But for me, race isn't such a big deal. In fact, maybe I'm a little reverse-racist because I'd prefer to date people who aren't American (Yes, American, not white in general because I'm a sucker for European guys) Still though, race is definitely not the most important aspect about a person.
