Here is an easy way too deal with the issue. Dont buy it if its too expensive. You'd rather drive a ferrari than a volvo, but you can only afford the volvo so tough luck, thats life.

It's a problem alright, i'd take comfort in that steam and other digital distribution platforms will be putting retail shops like game stop out of business in the near future.

When I was working at GameStop last year few other employees, manager, and myself talked about Digital Downloads and GameStop. Overall it will hurt GameStop but not as big as everything would think. The one main thing that will hurt them is if there is a big push for Digital Games/Content for the Consoles, used consoles, games, etc is where they make their money and you hit the used games market you hurt them big time. Why you think GameStop is accepting and carrying Cellphones, Tablets, selling used Blue-Ray/DVDs, etc.

That, and we have seen them jump more into the downloadable sales on there website and prepaid cards at the stores for people without credit cards and so. Like everything else in the gaming market, in 5 to 7 years they will look completely different to what they are now, but it looks like they are as prepared for it as one can be. Everyone is trying to get a piece of that digital market piece.
