That and if you question if they are really that person just ask them to take a picture with something that's happened the past day or 2 like a newspaper that clears the issue up.

^ allow me to present my counter argument. If I were looking for dates then I'd prefer a pic and I'm sure many of you would agree, however if I'm only looking for friends with common interests, I find it too hard to care if they have a pic of themselves up or not and I'm sure many others feel the same. I've seen many profiles or ppl without pics get lots of comments and the like. I'll go for either dating or friends, so quite frankly ppl who are into the same Anime or Video Games as me will get messages or comments from me, real pic up or not. I'm sure others feel the same. So your partially right.

Honestly, while a person's avatar can get my attention, the first thing I look at is their Info page to see if we have anything in common. If we don't, it really doesn't matter if they're the spitting image of Asuna--what's the point?

I really think people should have a picture of themselves in their profile even if its not default and I'm not talking about those really photoshop pictures that make it really hard to see who are you talking to
