Uprooting for a chance at love?

shoggoth
For the last year or so I've been living with my family again to help take care of them while they sort out some financial/medical troubles. Starting in May at the earliest or August at the latest I will have the situation stabilized enough to go out on my own. That being said, I find myself in a unique situation where all locations are, in essence, equal because of my lack of any social roots either here in NJ or in my former location near Pittsburgh. It's with that in mind that I have started to think about finding some wonderful otaku/nerd girl and setting up wherever they are. Nothing like moving in with them off the bat mind you, just move to the area to give things a chance. But I wonder if, even so that would be too much pressure even if I say all places are the same for me? Does this idea seem to have any merit? Any thoughts and/or suggestions are appreciated.

I'd do it. It helps to have a degree and skills that would help you with finding a job. It'd be better to have a few job interviews lined up before you moved, but it's possible even if you don't if you have some kind of financial backing that could sustain you for a year or two. It will likely cause a bit of stress though and could make it complicated to have a healthy, happy relationship. You'd have to mentally prepare yourself for it.

Very true on all counts. Living on my own in Pittsburgh for two years was liberating but so stressful trying to get by on $8 an hour. I did it, but it wasn't pretty. I was thinking of going to a local community college wherever I would go, but it really makes more sense to do it where I can get in-state tuition prices, doesn't it? Well I suppose in the end this is really only something I should consider only if I have a relationship worth moving for first, as Cantthinkofabettername pointed out. Thanks for the advice you two, it's much appreciated.
