Dating or Social Network?

I don't think this site is really set up as a dating site. Not to say that sites like OKcupid or eHarmony are the end all be all, but this site is more kinda like a simple anime/gaming forum really with some relationship issues tossed about here and there

Its because we are scatter all over the map We need small groups in small conventions So we can have big groups at big cons

Just to say (and I know that a lot of people were saying "tired of having people on just looking for friends) that in my area it's really difficult to find legitimate gamers/anime lovers that have it as a big part of their life so it's refreshing to be able to come back to a place that has people in it who more or less get me. :P That's my two cents on the subject (and the reason I continue to use maiotaku over other sites), but I wanted to see if there were any cool stories of people hooking up at all.

I think the site has a small population of active members. People who leave are mostly the ones that try to find their love but they can't from various reasons...those that remain are the ones that just like this place and wanna have fun with others Also, looking for love online will make a lot of people to say "Go outside and find somebody you beta loser!" That's why people are discouraged xD but not me. I can't get discouraged by the majority...i guess my annoying hipster ego is kicking in... Anyways, the site is limited. I don't see any chatrooms <.< someone should make a thread with a link to a private MaiOtaku chatroom to be honest... I would do it myself but I'm pretty new here so I wouldn't be able to gather people that effective.

I would have to agree that it has been more of a social website than a dating one. It might be better if we were all closer together by distance or maybe have a group of people from the site meet at conventions. We just have to keep on turning this to more of a dating site ourselves if that is the case.

my honest opinion is that maiotaku is the female and alll the users are the males and everyone just got friend-zoned. I have been on here everyday since i joined back in november '12 and nothing has happened. You would go looking for a single person and find one that is attractive, to find out they are inactive, live too far or who sign up for A DATING site as taken. Not only that a lot of people only have photos of there favorite anime characters (not really a problem) but we would like to see what you actually look like as well. Also you have some people who are wayyyy underage to be using a dating site (like 13 and 14 years old)

I forget this site has ads. I have them blocked on my laptop so I don't see them. When hop on my tablet or phone I see ads for other dating sites. The irony... <br> I can only suggest people should just asking others out. Just go for it. What's to loose? <br> Live far apart? Do a date over video chat like Skype.
