My parent's wouldn't let me watch Pokémon when I was a kid (because apparently it was "too violent", but I eventually rediscovered it (along with Digimon) a few years later. They changed me for ever.

Pokemon...but I didn't really understand what "anime" was. Years, years later, I randomly happened to watch Spice and Wolf...and now I'm here...XD

My first anime was Sailor Moon in Cantonese as well as Dragonball Z in Cantonese. First English anime for me was Mamono Hunter Youko and Ranma ½. After that the industry had a snowball affect upon me.

I beleive my first anime was Space adventure Cobra, I watched a lot of the mecha animes when I was young but the one that hooked me into Anime was Ghost in the Shell.

First Americanized anime was Voltron or Golion back in 1985. Going forward to non-Americanized anime(Robotech falls in Americanized) it would have been Project A-Ko on Sci-Fi Channel Saturday Morning Anime. Which was around 1997.
