So who cosplays?

Aww. Well, I had been doing research on cosplaying and the community for years before participating in the hobby myself. I am lucky in that my mom is an experienced seamstress, and I, an excellent patterns researcher. We mixed and matched different tops and bottoms, visited a conveniently close cloth shop by our house, and set to work. Having reference drawings - and being an adept artist - is quite useful at that stage. So yeah, I ended up helping my mom sew my costume ^_^ Did you buy your stuff? I don't really want to buy wigs or anything until I'm out of my house so I can ensure their continued safety when I'm not looking at them. For now I do characters I can accurately and realistically portray without altering hair colors.

Oh I usually buy my cosplays. Unless it's really simple! I always buy wigs, preferably pre-styled, since I have no idea how to style wigs without it looking like a mess...

You should talk to people whose skills are useful! It's such a nice thing to think about in your spare time. What you're planning, what you need, what you'll do to get it, how you'll work with it...

Yep! I know a couple of Juniors who know how to sew. I'm hoping to take a class so I can make my own cosplays one day (ovo)

Yeah! But you'll have to start off with some simple stuff, and from what I've seen and done, it involves LOTS of patience and geometry o.O

I have cosplayed a few times. I have cosplayed as: -Gendo Ikari (Neon Genesis Evangelion) -Maes Hughes (FMA) -Okabe Rinataro (Steins;Gate) Very fun to do. Thinking of doing the anime manager from Lucky Star one day.

So far done these: Kagome (InuYasha) Female Ranma (Ranma 1/2) Arumi (Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi) Mai Minase green jumper and white turtleneck (.hack//Liminality) Planning to do lots more in future though.
