Teachers with guns

animecountryboy
People hear "antisocial" and automatically think "loner" , but that is not what it is, in regards to what antisocial personality disorder is.

I sure started a time bomb with this tread. To let you know teachers in Texas will be allowed to carry guns in school only if they pass training. My view is this: many of the tragedies nearly all fall back on how far parenting has decline in the nation. The high number of divorces; failed marriages and parent neglect has created a vicious cycle. In the old days children would be raised by both of their parents and would learn how a family should be and the values that they should pass down to their children. Since the cycle has been broken by worthless parents new adults are being made who clueless on how to raise children. There for the number of problems people raises and spreads like disease. Besides that humans have both the capacity to do good and bad. Others just simply embrace what's easier to them. Im most shootings people who are unhappy with the world seek to end their life. In their twisted view they sometimes like to take people with them. Add to that ex military who were abandon by government once they became unstable and many more mishaps and you get bloodshed. This is a side effect of all the nations problems. The only that can be done is to take measures. Guns should always be available just that it shouldn't be easy for someone to obtain one. After all we have the right to take down an oppressive government. I do hate how disorders are always used as an excuse for events and tragedies. Because obviously if someone knew about the problem they should have recognize that he was a danger to society. Basically someone drop the ball. Although people will fall back on that excuse to protect their rights or cover up the story. But that's just my point of view.

I don't think it's a time bomb topic so far, just a discussion. :P I do think there should be limits on the sale of firearms, I just don't know if there's actual criteria we can judge if a person will commit violence specifically mass murder. So far, there's too many variables between all the mass violence acts. Like people will blame video games, mental illness, illegally obtained firearms, and bulling but there's no concrete relationship. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. Many of the recent string of mass shooters didn't have a history of criminal activities and/or obtained the guns legally. Sometimes they were pushed to the limit by bullying sometimes not. *sigh* Too many factors

Hmm this must be newer or something teachers were packing back when i was in school in Ohio (albeit illegally) and we at no time didnt have 1-2 armed police officers in my Middle-school and Highschool. The elementary school killings was a bit of a shock but the asshole that killed those children was obviously mentally deranged, hence the reason he decided to go kill a class full of small children. No sane person would do that. So yea i can see Phoenix's views of mental illness and bad parenting b/c those are 2 factors a classroom full of 5-6 year olds got slaughtered. The parent of the gunman allowed him access to her guns. And the gunman himself well we know he was a few Tacos short of a tortilla plate. But the gun control side may get the re-ban on assault weapons that expired in 2004. Which is good and bad. To be honest I'd like more background checks and more enforcement on current laws to make it harder for this to happen, not that it had to be guns do it, it just made it happen more conveniently. The bastard could have used a sword on the 1st graders since ya know.. they're little kids with almost no way to defend themselves. This kind of thing happened in Norway a year and a half ago when a nutcase got on an island and slaughtered something like 90+ kids and adults. He had planned his attack well in advance which i'm thinking Lanza did to. Sad really when there "could" have been flags but for whatever reasons they didn't appear or were ignored. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Norway_attacks Teachers with guns is old news at least in the rougher schools. Glad to have them since the teachers themselves are putting their life on the line and have been since the 1970s and 80s at least where I was around.

Well, I know I am going to regret this. We have no reason to own assault style weapons or high capacity magazines. That would cut down on the death count. They recently had a man in China go berzerk in a school with a knife. Twenty were injured but no deaths. I don't want to take away folks guns, but only the military should have military style weapons.

Why do people always forget Law Enforcement.... no disrespect to the military....

Thanks phoenix, I stand corrected.

I feel like we can't really do anything. What do NORMAL people really need guns for? Not everybody is an avid hunter. Not everybody has the means to take gun defense classes. I would prefer owning some bulletproof articles of clothing. xD
