Old School Anime

I've noticed that a lot of people here watch a lot of newer anime titles. Just wondering if ya are a fan of older, classic ones like: Urusei Yatsura, Here is Greenwood, Slayers, Top wo Narae: Gunbuster, Mahou Tsukai Tai, Tenkuu no Escaflowne, Jubei-chan, Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. I guess I mean to say anime that is cel based and pre 2000. My friend's wife would be picky about watching old anime. She'll noticed immediately that the character designs are retro looking and it's cel based animation on film and that'll be an auto turn off for her. Personally I find 80's and 90's anime charming.

The old school anime is the best :) Jubei-chan was hilarious and so hard to find on dvd! they closed the one major anime store in minnesota, basically leaving us all with just online.

Well as they say there is no school like the Old School. I still love Robotech, Voltron, Star blazer, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. And even some more contemporary classics like AH! My Goddess, Chobits, Fruits Baskets, Slayers, Banner of Stars, Ranma. They are all good I mean where woula ya be with out epic tales like Ruroni Kenshin and Urusei Yatsura. Don't get me wrong I love new anime but some of my favorite shows are still the classics..

I liked gigantor and astro boy. something about black and white animated shows and tv series in general that i really enjoy

most of my favorite anime is pre 2000.... Akira ghost in the shell nausicaa of the valley of the wind Gundam Wing slayers Neon Genesis Evagelion these are all must sees in my book and many more

I love old school anime like: Slayers Sakura Diaries Neon Genesis Evangelion Akira Ghost in a Shell Silent Mobius Saber Marionette J Mazinger Z They had a good type of style that cant be matched.
