In my personal opinion, yes, maturity should be before age. That being said, I don't generally find that many young people have much maturity to be in a serious enough romantic relationship with a much older person. I don't think kids who are dependent on guardians to that point understand enough about real world situations. Kids are kids you know? There's a reason juveniles are treated the way they are with laws to protect them and why they're given lighter punishment if they break the law. Honestly, I can't even imagine myself having a romantic relationship with someone in their mid teens. I have nothing to relate with them. High school's been 10 - 7 years past me now and I don't have that kind of outlook on life anymore. I can't even imagine what kind of conversation I could have with a 11 year old that doesn't revolve around the social niceties of how was school, and that game is cool, etc.

Well my name wouldn't be known, I just happen to see pictures of her with her friends, and for some reason you look like someone I might have seen in one of those pictures. You located around Lancaster? Yeah really don't see there any chance of you knowing her, but who knows right? Noticed that. :P

@Kawaii, you can tell me in private if you want! Though Im sure no-one could reject you! ;) @Xueli - I had conversations with my exs 14 y/o brother about computing and programming that many people my age would just be all wtf...? He was pretty mature for his age, not just in intelligence, but maturity as well. Upbringing plays a big part in someones development! Especially at a young age. I cant say much since I lived a fairly sheltered life until I was 17 when my mum left my dad and I stayed with him. It was from then on a lot of my view of the world changed, but this was back in 2001 so while I may not be the most experienced (in terms of having grown up with it), Ive certainly spent the more impressionable years of my life exposed to all kinds of things the everyday, or hell even most people, shouldnt have to be exposed to. Its made me pretty understanding about most situations.....

ManLeftForDead - Probably not the same person, I live pretty far from Lancaster...I live clear in Jackson.

Well I can't account for individual personal experiences that shapes a person's psychology since all that is subjective, but I still stand by what I said in a general sense.

@fangirl all situations, age ranges, and people are different but I more or less have to agree with @xueli's assessment on things. most young teens just dont have a lot of real world experience and could be difficult for the older party to relate. For me personally, I'd just have an easier time relating to someone around xuelis age versus say somone who is still a junior or senior in high school still living with their parents.
