What do you think?

Whether you like anime/manga a little or more than most and putting genres aside I've always felt that Akira is one of those movies that you should watch at least once. I'd like to get you're opinions and I'd like to know what movie/series you feel everyone should watch at least once.

Well I would agree with you on Akira since it is a cult classic and so well received by most. I would add the movies: -Ghost in a Shell -Any Studio Ghibli film (Grave of the Fireflies, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away to name a few) There are more but cant think of them now.

I've wanted to see Grave of the Fireflies for a while now. I've been told that it's incredibly sad.

Studio Ghilbli has some of the best anime movies that just leave a huge impact even on people who don't watch anime at all. My friend who does not watch any anime at all has watched spirited away with me at least 5 times and she wont shut up about it lol. I got her to watch princess Mononoke and she enjoyed it to.

Yes Grave of the Fireflies is very sad but powerful at the same time. Also, the anime that Studio Ghibli creates gives a strong impression to the viewer and makes them realize things in a different light. I guess that could be a reason that the movies have such a wide range of viewers. I still need to watch Karigurashi no Arrietty at some point.
