Okay, I've been struggling with this for... SOME time now. ^^;
What's the easiest way to get over shyness? I don't mind being in large groups of people, but unless I'm having conversation with ONE other person (no more than that) I'm dead silent. And it's rare for people to want to talk to me for it. What makes things worse, is that my best friend is always the life of the party, and he has NO issue going up to people and making himself the center of attention. Soo... what's a good way to jump out and say "I'm HERE" ?

Liquid courage? Not the best advice..but it works sometimes. Definitely not a permanent fix :P Otherwise im the silent type as well, so I'd be curious to hear what others have to say.

Oh, the "liquid courage" works for a little while, I'll admit xD But I'm not gonna stay drunk for an entire weekend for a convention o.o

Best advice for shyness, Life is like a cool pool on a hot summer day, your not ready for the sudden change in temp, but if you don't slowly get in you'll notice the cold and want to get out, but if you jump in the deep end, there is nothing to pull yourself back out and you are instantly forced to get use to the temp. Basically, just swallow your shyness and jump into life. You only have one so live it as best you can. You have to want it. I use to be really shy around girls around late elementary to my 10th grade year in high school. I met a group of people who jumped into things, so I decided to try as well. It was hard at first but now it comes easy.

OK I'm gonna try and give this a shot. "Base your answers on Personal Experiences...Okay so, How do I know when a otaku-guy is into me for me and not because I'm inexperienced and thinks they can try to take advantage of me "sexually" in a relationship?

It depends on how they act around you. Though its not something you can judge an online relationship. The best way to test someone is with time and getting to know that person. Another good way to tell is the type of advances they make, do they try to set the mood with you, or do they just come on strong. Generally Otaku who would gain interest in a girl in an unsexual way are usually shy and slow to approach them at first, especially the ones who have felt endless rejections.

That is definitely not a simple question >.>
If I were you I'd take the direct approach: Telling them flat out your intentions.
But it's generally looked down upon to be Rash.
