I think its okay for relationships to be a goal one works towards. I definitely would love one, but I'm definitely not desperate. However, as I said. To get a girlfriend, you need to work for it (unless your standards are zero and then you can probably get a really desperate girl). No woman or man who is confident and has self worth would need help to get a girlfriend on a dating site. That's your job to look desirable and talk to the women yourself.
