And as for collectivist survival in primitive conditions, we need only examine the groups that are still doing it. They've been doing what they have been doing long before industrialization became a world standard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAJCtSKzN-E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4e6T2nJ7NTk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNJdimyPWEU Read up on these guys, the sociologists have been recording their techniques and ways of life for centuries. If more doomsday preppers took them into account, we'd already be seeing the fortified bunker fantasy fade in place for more practical means of communal survival. We don't even have to fall back that far. Even without power, Our existing infrastructure, from sanitation to road systems is vastly superior to medieval living. That's huge. Even within medieval societies it's easy to see what improved sanitation can do for a kingdom or state's ability to support a population. India and China in the 15th century? Their urban centers were fucking huge compared to Europe at the time. Speaking of medieval Europe, you will need these skills in the short term: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FQrDMDTVSQ We already have them built here, so yay for us! Just have to switch a lot of them over to more primitive means. The roads? There's a freakin road to literally everywhere in the US. Combined with the fact that we produce most of the world's food as is, we could utilize that surplus and get it to where it needs to go. Communication between states on a national effort will be a problem of course, but I mean, we've done it before. The Untited States predate the telephone. We have the means to bounce back and still keep a nation our size mostly in tact. We might need to disperse population densities to the west more, where there is an abundance of land, or into Canada, but if we could get those areas developed from scratch to support a new living standard, then it won't be back to the stone age. We already have the infrastructure needed to jump start forward (or backward perhaps) to colonial times AT LEAST. And all that plastic waste? Boy, there's going to be some new trades developed for adapting that crap into an abundant resource.

This is where i think there is a disconnect. You are comparing people who have only known that sort of survival life to people who dont. Agriculture, farm animals, hunting, surviving. These arent common knowledge. People who live in the city? If you asked them how to milk a cow they probably wouldnt even know how. You want them to hunt? With what? Using a bow and arrow is very hard, i tried it before and yeah it isnt something you can just pick up like that and be good at it. Guns? Most people are afraid of guns hence gun CONTROL asking them to use one to take another creature's life might be traumatizing for them. There is just simply the fact most people would probably die. If not from violence and chaos. Most likely because they lack survival skills. Not everyone can survive off dandelions most probably dont even know you can eat one.

We will be sent back to the stone age essentially. A majority of the people who are smart and can build back the civilization we have right now is such a small percentage. Keep in mind most people have jobs in retail and business, these contribute nothing to society besides convenience.

Bitch please, books that teach this stuff have been on shelves for decades, even into modern day.
hell_hound7
Again YOU might have read them doesnt mean EVERYONE has.
hell_hound7
You arent the millions of people living on this planet. Just the one you.

Wow. So you are saying that someone may not think to go to barnes and noble to grab a field guide to plants? You have a low opinion of humanity and their will to survive.
hell_hound7
Again even if they decided to this AFTER THE FACT. Thats being reactive and not proactive. So now they are basically learning how to survive...after the fact. Your stance makes zero sense, they are basically learning how to survive while their survival is being tested. Its like learning whats gonna be on the test while you are taking it

Idk what kind of movie land you think we live in. But people dont just read a book on how to catch a squirrel and then catch one 10 mins later for some it will take days, some also impatient because of hunger will then give up. Look for other methods, and as they weaken they will have less energy to find the food they need and eat anything they can find weather it be poisonous or otherwise.
hell_hound7
Thats assuming there is food to find and you arent living like its africa where people eat literal mud cakes.
