Why is the rate of suicide and mental illness going up?

yaasshat
Enki, Hysteria was considered a female thing. They thought the female inner anatomy shifted causing mental distress and they even had doctors that would quite literally masturbate women to correct it. Virbrators were at first, medical devices, because the doctor's hands would get tired. I mean, that was also during a time in western culture when they didn't really believe women could orgasm, so of course women would take advantage of going to those doctors.;) Kichi, I wouldn't consider the "kamikaze people " cowards at all. They died for what they considered a worthy cause and it took a considerable amount of courage to do so. No man or woman who dies FIGHTING is a coward, at least not in my book(An idiot, terrorist or prick? Yup, but that's another topic.). Kind of why one should have some sort of respect for their enemy. They're willing to die for their cause just as you are for yours. This kind of plays into suicide. While I won't tell someone to just kill themselves, I fully respect thier choice. I'm not in thier head. Sure, I'd try to convince them otherwise (I do believe life is quite precious.), but in the end it's their life to do with as they please. It's not always the cowards way out and sometimes I can truly see why they choose to do so, even with the pain it causes others. For terminal illnesses, I do believe people should have the right to choose euthanasia. Families want family members to live and friends want friends to live. But, what of the pain and suffering of the one afflicted? Victim be damned? I should think not. Love is willing to give someone freedom, even to their detriment. But, again, in that same vain, things like depression, I believe they should be fought tooth and nail, even then I believe there could be a breaking point where the person afflicted should not be judged for choosing to be free from the pain. None of this is to condone nor convince those who are emotionally susceptible or easily triggered. Always take what you read with a giant grain of salt.
