Quitting is hard tbh. On the social norm I just say do what you want, your not harming anyone except for yourself depending on the person whether or not it’s harming them still not impeding on my rights. Though for me personally it’d seem better to get rid of it or at least most of it for personal reasons for myself. Stopping is hard tbh, but I won’t look down on anyone who does or doesn’t. It makes it more meaningful to have the person willingly quit

Porn ruins nothing that wasn't messed up to begin with. You looked for something internally that would fill a so called desire or a need and you found it in porn. You could've found it in a multitude of things, some work out all the time for the very same reasons. Blame porn if you want, but realize that if you dont find the root cause, blaming porn won't solve it. Now, I'm not saying porn is good, but I don't believe it to be inherently bad either. It's like blaming guns for shootings, while ignoring the root causes. Find a healthier outlet. I'm just another pot calling the kettle black, here.XD

The issue is the addiction part Yasshat. It’s not always out of desire either it first comes out of curiosity and discovery at first at a young age where the novelty and desire sets in later when it becomes habitual. Not everyone is messed up “You could’ve you a multitude of things” is a bad response that literally can be said about anything but doesn’t really help anything. idk about dagger but I haven’t blamed porn for anything but people know what the root cause is and it’s still hard for them to solve. It takes “time” to just find a healthier outlet to. Just cause someone finds the root cause doesn’t mean they wanna fix it or will fix it either

@yaasshat: You couldn't be more wrong on this one. In 2014, a Cambridge University study found that pornography triggers brain activity in sex addicts in the same way drugs trigger drug addicts. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/thinking-man/scary-effects-pornography-21st-centurys-accute-addiction-rewiring/ “Years of porn use can cause a variety of symptoms, which, when examined, lie on a spectrum. Often porn users report that delayed ejaculation (DE) or inability to orgasm (anorgasmia) was a precursor to full-blown erectile dysfunction.” https://www.addiction.com/expert-blogs/consequences-using-pornography-science-says/ There is a fair amount of research that substantiates the idea that problematic pornography use correlates with psychological problems such as depression and anxiety: https://www.mentalhelp.net/articles/the-brains-of-porn-addicts/#psychological-effects-of-porn-use The same kind of studies have also been done on Social Media in general. In fact, the creator of Facebook knows this and actively pursues it. Social Media is beginning to cause depression, anxiety and dopamine issues in its users. Our brains react to these things, it's how the gambling industry grew too, by targeting and exploiting dopamine generation.

Ah, like the same way some people seek that dopamine via exercise, but exercise is a much healthier outlet? "Now, I'm not saying porn is good, but I don't believe it to be inherently bad either. It's like blaming guns for shootings, while ignoring the root causes. Find a healthier outlet." Cool, bro. But, thanks for adulting me.
