a challenge

animecountryboy
What is it about the challenge? I've noticed something about both guys and girls recently. When it comes to a relationship we take "challenges". For girls it seems to be trying to get the "bad boy" and "fix him". For guys it seems it is the "damsel in distress". What are people's thought on this topic?

I've heard of the "damsel in distress" thing but not really much of girls trying to "fix" the "bad boys"

Well I know where the bad boy fixation comes from. When women are young, their mother tells them that when a boy picks on you, it just means he likes you. Women don't quite seem to realize that that thinking only works in elementary school, if at all. So they continue to think that the guys who treat them bad really love them, and just don't know how to express it any other way.

Curious what would you call my situation? I give girls that I think might be interesting a chance. It always starts out good until I find out their lives are a wreck of indecision and aren't really ready for a relationship. By that time all this happens hours have been invested in the person and theirs an emotional attachment that appears to be mutual but declared one side. How is that for a challenge.

I wanted to get other people's opinion. This is something i have been pondering for a while now. I think comes from the basic urges we have engraved in us.
