Pokémon of the Week!

forgetmenot
Other social media have threads or accounts for this kinda thing, and well it should come as no surprise that I of all people made this thread. That said! Every Monday I'll talk about a certain pokemon here. Why I like it, as well as some fun strategies with them that hopefully won't be used against me in Pokémon Showdown. The first one will be right after this post. Also... the "specimen" I am thinking of should also come as no surprise.

https://media.tenor.com/G9DHJWpFP2sAAAAC/skuntank-laughing.gif That's right. Skuntank! Smelly, but skunk smell never quite bothered me. It is pokemon, so I could very well expect something worse. the design of the tail is just chefs kiss. Makes it stylish as hell when the tip of the tail looks like a pompadour. Being a poison/dark type which are my two favorite types mashed into one. "But Curly! what about Drapion and Alolan Muk?" Pains me to admit such a thing, but Skuntank is just far more huggable than other dark/poison pokemon. Now in battle, Skuntank isn't a laughing matter. It's stats may not be too impressive, but that is made up for in its movepool, and abilities. I personally use Skuntank as a Toxic Spikes setter. Toxic spikes come first, do what I can with Sucker Punch/Gunk Shot, and a Normal gem powered Explosion to guarantee a kill, forcing something onto the spikes one way or another. With the Stench ability, giving a chance to make the opponent flinch when hit complementing sucker punch, Skuntank can be punishing. The chance is low, but I've personally had good luck with it. If not toxic spikes, then Skuntank with a move for extra coverage in place of Explosion, and a status move in place of Toxic Spikes. A good example is that it learns Nasty Plot and Fire Blast. Equipped with Black Sludge and Stench, Skuntank can be a threat this way as well. In conclusion! Skuntank is a well rounded pokemon with great typing having only one weakness against ground moves. It has a good movepool that is sure to benefit your team in some way. It also is a greatly designed pokemon. Cool, and somewhat intimidating, but cute in its own manner at the same time.

Pokemon of the century is my boi Jigglypuff, the adorable little ball of fluff, with its big round eyes and soft pudgy body that just begs for a cuddle. But don't be fooled by it's innocent appearance! He'll draw a dick on your face if you dare fall asleep when he sings https://media.tenor.com/Af5E3TqVhH0AAAAC/jigglypuff-singing.gif
