@twobananasshyofapumpkinpie swadian is a friend of mine, and while i don necessarily agree with their life choices. I dont appreciate my religion being used to harm others. Especially when it further drives people away from the faith. Tho being that this person just seems to be rage baiting i dont think this person is even religious at all. They just wanna say a bunch of nonsensical stuff to get people riled up.

@hell_hound7 Yeah I can see that being the case, he is going hard with it, but this is what people see the most when interacting with religion (especially recently). It appears to outsiders as hatred being the face of the religion and even when looked into further beyond the openly violent, intolerance and bigotry aren't good looks. From my personal perspective though, your position and his aren't different. It looks like a person in a glass house throwing stones when you condemn his comments.

@twobananasshyofapumpkinpie meh it is what it is, my stance has always been my rights end where your rights begin vice versa. I can believe whatever i want, but thats not the same as treating people with hatred and violence. Wishing to burn someone to death for being trans is not the same as wanting them to experience paradise in the afterlife. Because this life is temporary but heaven is eternal. If thats the pot calling the kettle black to whomever sees it, then idk lump me together with them but it doesnt change the fact that my view is different than one of hatred. Infact i love swadian and all my friends, because christianity IS about love and not hatred. Thag being said, i dont like people maliciously attacking swadian. Even if swadian doesnt see me in the same way, i think every user deserves to feel safe on this site. Its not really something thats enforced tbh.

@hell_hound7 No doubt. I don't know Swadian, but we agree about users feeling safe here. While I couldn't help but make my personal opinion clear, I wasn't trying to arguing with you about your beliefs (at least not in this thread or today or in public), I did think it was important to point out to you one possible answer to your origin post of your thread (though that didn't seem like an appropriate place to reply). As a former Christian I see the value it provides society and genuinely hope churches and communities have a solid understanding of why people are apprehensive about joining or staying to better address and/or solve those issues.
