I've had a few jobs where I've been laid off due to the economy, and those have been a majority of them. Everyone is hiring but rarely do I get calls back. I know I went to a shitty college online college like devry, but I used to get calls. on my last two jobs that I may have done a thing here or there, but i mostly worked hard, more often than not, working harder than the manager I report to. I'm embarrassed to even ask this here, I'm not sure what kind of conclusion to come up with at this point... If I am having troubles holding down a job, should I stop smoking weed, should I see a psychiatrist? What should I do?"

1392. @1387 what kind of work are doing? Could have some to do with it. Location as well. I have noticed that in rural areas, people who are career oriented are more inclined to hold a job longer at a place, maybe because there's a lack of competition. In an urban setting, however, it's more acceptable that people job hop, only staying at a company for 3 years on average. It's honestly one of the ways people increase their salary. People who are loyal to a company are less inclined to get big increases in pay. It's only when they talk about leaving for another job offer that the company will consider if it's worth paying more to retain an already trained employee.
