I'm very into kyoto. I've always liked asian culture before i knew what anime was so it's always been kind of a dream of mine to see it for myself.

I got into asian cultures because of anime, but it's more than that. I've been taking Japanese for a few years now and I was lucky enough to study abroad in Japan earlier this year.

My friend took Japanese and was lucky too, she stayed over there for a year! (so jealous) XD There was some inevitable culture shock, and we all missed her terribly, but it was absolutely worth it. =)
I'd want to go to the shrines and temples in the forests. Japan's myths and folklore that I encountered through anime (like Spirited Away) have always struck a chord within me, not to mention being able to see their gorgeous misty mountains. =)

Yay, a Miyazaki fan! Have you seen Princess Mononoke? It's very similar to Spirited Away, with the spirits of the land and samurai, but it's a lot more serious. I highly recommend it! =)

Id love to go and live in a quiet village somewhere away from the main cities and soak up and live the traditional culture. Personally, I feel their old values suit me better than the rest of the modern world. That, and I just like an easy, happy life...

Me too! I imagine in that quiet village there would be someone just right. Its weird that as much as Im a modern tech kinda guy, I could just as easily live a much more traditional life. I guess things were easier back then..
