Who owns a PlayStation 5 and how much did it cost ya?

For fun I looked up the going price for a PS5 and they wanted over $1000 at Walmart and Sears. According to Sony, the PS5 has already out performed the PS4 in the last year which I don't buy given there had been a shortage of systems and they are twice the price. How is Sony coming up with these numbers? I want to see how many people here are rocking the new system.

I'm betting that's actually just order fulfillment through Walmart/Sears and not actually being sold by them. You can get them for MSRP in store here if you catch them in stock.

@umi_nezumi Keyword, when it's in stock! I looked at the distribution as you said and you are right. Didn't realize Walmart was doing Amazon. Still, it doesn't look good on them.

@umi_nezumi yeah it actually tells you who it is sold by. Its not sold by walmart. Also i am holding out i have faith that i will be able to buy the ps5. And im not talking the revised ps5 either. Im gonna get the original and im not paying anymore than 500

I'm not that interested in consoles anymore, but I was looking for one as a gift a few months ago. You used to be able to catch them in stock here somewhat regularly. I chatted up a Walmart employee and found out some reseller was coming by and buying them up. If you find a really nice employee they might even be willing to contact you when they get more in. Also don't assume the online listing for in-store stock is accurate, they'll be gone before the online listing is updated.

@umi_nezumi That's true, but my original gripe is how Sony can claim everyone is apparently buying 2 PS5s a person in America?

That part isn't clear, but either way, they are strongly pushing the narrative to investors that PS5s are owned by more people than PS4.
