to be fair, i hate the slogan "defund the police" when most precincts actually need MORE funding to accommodate better training programs. I agree the LA police budget is insanely high and we should allocate that to other programs, but that's a really rare instance. usually, the police are as underfunded as some school systems.

Yeah, it's a tough complicated situation. I heard cops can't even report each other or the whole department shuns them. So it's very frustrating for good cops seeing bad cops.

oh yeah the corruption in local police is horrible. they see each other as a brotherhood, so even the good guys feel like they cant do anything about the bad ones. the phrase 'dont bad apple spoils the bunch' is the perfect definition for this issue. and when they do report the bad ones, theyr harassed. there are countless stories of this. iv heard the state police are better, but that's just what my mom has told me (and she hated cops since when i was a kid)

I do not agree wi th teachers being paid more. Not when they openly say they will teach the "correct history" in classes. Yeah fuck outta here i want my tax money back please. No taxation without representation.

Its sad because this CRT stuff will only affect the underprivileged youth. Because the privileged youth will be placed in private schools recieving actual education while the other are neglected of any sort of reading and math i have seen how those schools in wealthy areas are. They teach them shit i was learning in college. A 1st grader doing college math.

i disagree. we need a federal mandated curriculum or teachers who "don't want kids to think badly of our bootiful country uwu" will skip certain aspects of our history which should be explored. our education system is a mess in general, and the last thing it needs is teachers or states changing how much our children need to learn. we need to add to curriculums things like doing taxes and how to properly fill out paperwork. i learned how to write out a check, and I'm not exaggerating, in elementary school and i still remember today thanks to that. that was more valuable knowledge than fucking pemdas.

also, i didnt even address the budget schools get, but teachers having to buy school supplies is ridiculous. we don't ask any other profession to do this on that kind of scale. and budget cuts are constantly happening, cutting programs that are really valuable to children, especially those living in dangerous neighborhoods.
