I think if we can build up latin america right, wnd have people basically use them as the new china things will be good. Plus we are right there so we can keep them in check, incase they wanna go communist. If people dont invest in china it wont be the global powerhouse it is. And maybe distributing between latin america and india will help us not get another china where it overtakes even the strongest nation in the world.

@dyadka_yar the media blows everything out of proportion, but you can not equate the man who was reckless to the people that are reporting on the recklessness. the media was mocking him for saying it and told people why it was stupid, they were in no way even endorsing or even condoning his rhetoric. and about the economic thing, i agree, china is speeding up to us, but isn't biden doing something about that with china? i don't remember what he did, just that it was in an effort to weaken china's influence. which is what we should be doing. if you know more about this feel free to educate me on it, like i said iv been out of the news cycle

What biden is doing isnt enough, it may delay but it wont stop. Other countries besides the US still are funding them. Nike and all these other businesses that are big westward are being leeched off of.

@hell_hound7 based. mexico is our largest trading partner and if we helped fix up their country then we wouldn't have an immigration issue either. the issue is how to go about this, because if the government is corrupt how can we trust them with our funds? that isn't to say we shouldn't fund their recovery, just that we need to be careful with it.

This is simple, we hand over money but under the condition our own politicians get a say in what happens in Mexico. Sort of treat it like a shareholder meeting. We invest in your company so do what makes us happy. If we can get our own non-corrupt politicaians to have seats at this countries table we can avoid their corrupt using the money for bad.

@hell_hound7 because there isnt much he can do because of the influence they have on the world. theyr a trading partner, they do a shit ton of our manufacturing for us and a bunch of other countries. to really hit china it would need to be a concerted effort with other countries. hopefully, we start moving our manufacturing to other developing nations like India. this also leads into why protectionist policies are oftentimes more harmful than helpful. we need good diplomacy and strong alliances. we need countries to rely on us so that we can control them. this is EXACTLY what china is doing right now.

China is definitely doing their diplomacy right. Getting involved with africa and investing in them, not destroying them like the "white devils" from back in the early 2000's

yup. something i strongly disagree with bernie on is that he's extremely protectionist. its a good way to lose our global influence and through that our power and protection as a nation

Thats what i think we are doing wrong. We are just handing out free money that goes into people's pockets. We need to actually allocate it to actual community influences and help these countries be better not just hand money to government and say have fun.
