That article is for this year and no the 4th of July was not banned. Juneteenth is a newer holiday, but that does not replace the 4th of July. My family celebrated the 4th as did my neighbors and no one was arrested. Is it anti-American to invent new holidays? Is it anti-American to celebrate freedom from slavery? Is it anti-American to celebrate National Cheesecake Day?
These are the questions I want answered!

Aleph ok you got me with the government thing. I will give you that, it was pretty clever. 200 IQ moment. I forgot military personnel are under the umbrella of government. However me as a private entity is not. While yes my rights are limited as a military member, I am free to do whatever i please WITH THE EXCEPTION that i am also free to recieve reprisal by said government. Weird little clause in there, but it is a contractual agreement i signed so i must abide.
But back to the private entity thing. I as my civilian self not military official or affiliated with military can hold those accountable for what is said and done under the guise of freedom of speech. So if i wanted to cancel an individual for disrespecting the flag and for not abiding with what i deem as American. By your logic i can do so. While you wont go to jail for it, you can be harassed endlessly hy the public as long as it hasnt come directly from the government. You can be attacked by others, verbally abused, and fired from your job for saying something we dont agree with. I am also allowed to share my opinion on why i feel those who do this should not be allowed to represent our country. Because that is my right, and you cant do anything about it.
While yes disrespecting the flag and this country is your right, you also dont have to live here. If you hate the same country that grant you the freedom to burn a flag and disrespect the anthem you dont have to live here. But you do and that makes you a hypocrite. It is because you yave the freedom to do it, that you do. If we had authoritarian principles you would already be dead. But just because you can doesnt mean you should. Like i said. You said cancel cultrue is ok because its a private entity's right to do so. Well how about we just cancel you for doing it. Has the same exact effect as comign from the government. Now we are full circle.
Now as for my juneteenth comment. 4th of july celebration was banned. This isnt banning fireworks display. This is a public gathering, not talking private gathering of family and friends but a public gathering. They cancelled it because of covid. Now juneteenth wasnt cancelled. That was public. See where im going with this? Dont play dumb aleph, you knew why i brought it up.

@xinmage ??? I think you are missing the point here the PUBLIC celebration was cancelled. Idk what you are arguing here. I again said you cannot literally go to everyone having a private party and stop them. This was also the case during covid. However while the PUBLIC celebration was canceled we had a PUBLIC celebration of juneteenth. Juneteenth was celebrated in NC for 16 years but this was the first time since it became a federal holiday that it was celebrated as a federal holiday. It is not anti-american to celebrate it. But why was the one advocating for all freedom not celebrated but the one advocating minority freedon celebrated? Many consider july 4th racist because the British were abolishing slavery anyway. While we kept it and ran with it for over 100 years. But again why was a PUBLIC celebration acknowledged for this and not that. Seems very anti-American to me.
Did that answer your question?

That's what happens when you decriminalize stealing, cops can't do anything, neither car businesses. Good job Chicago, making criminal's lives easier.

My point was you didn't read your own articles that you posted as "evidence."
People did in fact celebrate 4th of July both publicly and privately. No one was arrested for celebrating the holiday like you said.
So when you have a written document that can be cited with a list of the exact number of arrests or citations because of this draconian dictation from Chairman Xi Jinping of China, then you can't say with certainty that's what's happening.
You keep attacking Juneteenth like it was a plague on American freedom which is a form of anti-American behavior. To say your neighbors can't celebrate something when you yourself did and have. You absolutely celebrated the 4th of July and no one said you were evil for doing so, yet repeatedly you have said Juneteenth is "replacing" Independence Day.

Imma quote that article since you still dont seem to get it.
"Raleigh appears set to join the list, with a proposed budget that calls for canceling the Fourth of July fireworks celebration at the N.C. State Fairgrounds,"
"limit gatherings to “no more than 10 people indoors or 25 people outdoors,"
“As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, it is becoming clear that in the face of an unprecedented situation, we need to make tough choices,”
The public celebration, idek if i need to say parade for you to get what i mean was infact cancelled. Part of the article says blah blah blah saving lives and all that but neither here nor there.
I am not attacking juneteenth, im saying its hypocrisy. This event can be had, but that event cant. Im saying this for the 4th time now. We had juneteenth celebration publicly and july 4th was cancelled. I live in NC so i can vouch for this but my word means nothing since i have my own bias. Therefore i posted an article which basically says the same about it being cancelled and then another about juneteenth being had. They cant arrest anyone for celebrating, because i believe even under covid they werent arresting people then so to say now we are gonna arrest youfor that same reason is just a lawsuit waiting to happen. Because we are still protected under our rights.
I never compared this to the CCP while yes it seems as though we head down that route with the changes we have going on in government, i have not compared the two.

Im not even gonna qoute the juneteenth article, because its mainly pre-event celebration and not a post event celebration. But even with that in mind my article on july 4th stated they were unsure if they could even get a fireworks celebration up in time in a different county. Crazy how that works but juneteenth was literally signed a day before the actual day or something and they turned that around fast.

If you wanna compare xi ping and communist practices going on here in the US look at ANY interviews of the north korean defectors and chinese people who were around the cultural revolution and beginnings of CCP today. They literally compare that to this. What do they have to gain by lying? Absolutely nothing.

I still think Columbus Day should be changed to Indigenous Peoples' Day. My tribe has its own holiday but it seems to piggyback on tribal election day for chief.
