@hiver I plan on getting back my Japanese in 2021. XD I wrecked it after neglecting it for 2 years.

I've done the same
I was taking courses at uni but they're really strict with attendance policy dropping grades and I already had trouble regulating a sleep schedule when depression and anxiety issues made it so much more difficult.
Now I'm just learning online with duolingo and French friends at my own pace and it feels a lot better not to associate a language with that kind of stress. If I become fluent this way, my university can accredit me with a really cheap test too.

@truffle imo, having a goal makes you stronger. walking aimlessly or sitting depressed 24/7 is not the way to live. negativity brings you down and doesn't let you advance.

@lilyyazawa It's not really an opinion, because it is well studied, but I understood what you mean. Negativity nor depression really is bad. Because in those times, you can learn a lot more about yourself and find solutions for those situations. They are necessary for success in the long run. If negativity and depression are prolonged, you can get help or also change lifestyle (depending on the reason for those handicaps). Prolonged depression and negativity can also be helped if the person is willing to also change it. Feelings of megativity and depression is normal too.

Thinking that way is actually a good point. My depression period helped me grow as a person because without it I probably would have been okay walking aimlessly in this town I live in so what you say isn't wrong. Maybe all my lows online (not getting into that, past is the past) is the reason I can feel change is coming. I'm excited, optimistic and I honestly want people to know it.
January 1st 2021 will be my second act and nothing will stop me.

@lilyyazawa Strive for excellence, the best way that you possibly can. There is value in everything that you do, there are an infinite amount of ways to take advantage of that and bring it into your reality. As cliche as it sounds once you have figured out the structures of understanding that are required for you to do your best, then you can go beyond that.
