Depends which part this would take place. After Nobunaga died, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu downright persecuted Christians.

Oh what many people would give for actual freedom. Unfortunately for Argile it seems like he picked the candidate who hates freedom the most.
Slight aside: From what little I've looked into Japanese history it looks pretty grim. There's always interesting stuff in spite of that, of course.
